OK, this is it. After a long period of... rhetorical conversations, I’ve decided to air this. Disambiguation: I am neither a web designer, neither have so far invested in developing code writing skills. All I do is only occasionally mess with html just as much as to blow things up. Good that I’m a minimalist (not when it comes to words, though; let there be a word of warning) and have thus settled happily for playing with my wysiwyg bucket and spade at the beach, away from the real surfers.

But please allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Maria-Io (Μαρία-Ηώ, in Greek). Maria as per the renowned mother of Jesus; Io (or, Eos, in the correct translation, sadly not esteemed by the EU rules on name latinisation), as per the Greek mythological deity of dawn and, ahem, mother of Eosphorus. Weird oxymoron, I know. Go figure...

I am (as per the salutation coined by a friend) a ‘London Psychologist’. Not sure what that means, but I trust his judgement (read sense of humour) and thus decided to adopt it for the purposes of this introduction. Still I must rectify the inaccuracy, since I’m torn between Greece and the UK, both physically and in spirit, for the past few years.

In general:

I try to make some sense of the world I live in, whenever possible.

I am very fond of systemic thinking.

I like listening without prejudice. Living, too.

I like politics.

I like art.

In addition:

There are a few more things I enjoy in life, that I might as well share. Crossing over Thames, parents who smile at their kids, kids that smile back, people who take their time (just as I do), blue skies, the horizon, the Aegean, warm weather, warm jackets, warm embraces, a good book, jazz, rock and classical music, new places, soothing food, symmetry, a storm, a shelter from the storm, thoughts, action, equality, tolerance, peace...
